Nearby, in the small town of Figueiró dos Vinhos, you will find everything that you need, including a bank, cashpoint, post office, two large supermarkets, an internet café, bakery, butcher and several other shops.

The Atlantic coast is only approximately 1 hour by car. Praia de Pedrogão is a friendly family beach with several small shops and terraces and for those people who prefer quieter beaches, Osso de Baleia is also easily accessed.

Quinta da Flores is perfectly situated as a base for several sights, such as the following special monuments which are noted on the World-Heritage rankings:
.    Alcobaça (120 km) This beautiful church and monastery are the first Gothic buildings in Portugal.
.    Batalha (103 km) The monastery of  Batalha was built in honour of the victory of the Portuguese on the Castillians in 1385. The monastery church of Batalha, is one of the most beautiful buildings in the Manueline (Portuguese late Gothic) style in Portugal.
.    Tomar ( 46 km) A friendly provincial town with the beautiful Templar Castle and the Convent of Christ, founded by the Order of the Temple in the early 12th century.
